Categories of consumer health data

When you choose to record information in Miglow, the app may process the following categories of consumer health data on your device:

  • Migraine episode information, including start and end times, intensity ratings, and pain locations
  • Symptoms and suspected triggers
  • Relief methods you record
  • Medications you log, including medication names, timing, and whether you reported that they helped
  • Menstrual cycle dates, if you enable that feature
  • Health-related notes you write yourself

This information is processed locally by Miglow on your device.

Miglow does not receive or maintain a server-side copy of your consumer health data.

Sources of consumer health data

The consumer health data processed by Miglow comes directly from information you choose to enter into the app.

Miglow does not obtain consumer health data from:

  • Data brokers
  • Advertising networks
  • Healthcare providers
  • Apple Health or HealthKit
  • Wearable devices
  • Other apps or third-party services

If Miglow introduces a feature in the future that obtains consumer health data from another source, we will update this policy before that feature is enabled.

Why Miglow processes consumer health data

Miglow processes the information you record in order to provide the features you request, including:

  • Displaying your migraine history
  • Maintaining records of episodes, symptoms, triggers, medications, relief methods, and related information
  • Calculating summaries and patterns from your own records
  • Generating insights based on your recorded history
  • Generating health reports and data exports that you request

Consumer health data is not processed for advertising, targeted marketing, profiling for advertising purposes, or sale.

How consumer health data is processed and stored

Consumer health data is stored locally in Miglow's app storage on your device.

Miglow does not operate a server that receives or stores your consumer health data, and we cannot access your migraine records remotely.

Processing used to display records, calculate summaries and patterns, and generate reports is performed on your device.

Miglow does not transmit your consumer health data to us in order to provide these features.

If you use iCloud Backup or another device backup service, Miglow's local app data may be included in your device backup. Backup services are controlled by the relevant provider and are outside Miglow's control.

Consumer health data shared by Miglow

Miglow does not share your consumer health data with third parties or affiliates.

Miglow has no affiliates with whom consumer health data is shared.

We do not sell consumer health data.

If you choose to export or share a health report or data file, you select the recipient or destination yourself. That user-initiated action is not a disclosure made by Miglow to a third party for Miglow's own purposes.

Once you send or save an exported file using another service, that service's privacy practices apply.

Third-party collection across websites or services

Miglow does not allow third parties to collect consumer health data through the app for advertising, tracking, or cross-service profiling.

Miglow does not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs that collect consumer health data.

Your consumer health data rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights relating to consumer health data, including the right to:

Confirm processing

You may ask whether Miglow collects, processes, shares, or sells consumer health data.

Miglow processes the health information you choose to record locally on your device. We do not receive a server-side copy, and we do not sell or share your consumer health data.

Access

You can view your consumer health data directly in the app.

Correction

You can edit your records directly in Miglow.

Deletion

You can delete individual records in the app.

Deleting Miglow removes its local app data from your device, subject to any copies that may remain in device backups you control.

Because Miglow does not hold a server-side copy of your consumer health data, there is generally no separate server-side health record for us to delete.

Withdraw consent or stop future processing

You can stop entering consumer health data into Miglow at any time and delete information you previously recorded.

Where applicable law gives you a right to withdraw consent to processing, you may also contact us using the details below.

Data portability

You can export a copy of your recorded Miglow data.

How to exercise your rights

Most rights relating to your Miglow records can be exercised directly in the app because the records remain on your device.

You may also submit a consumer health data request by emailing hello@miglow.co.

Please describe the request clearly enough for us to understand what right you are seeking to exercise.

Because Miglow does not operate user accounts and does not hold a server-side copy of your health records, we may not be able to identify or access records stored on your device.

We will respond to requests within the period required by applicable law. Where a 45-day response period applies, we will respond within 45 days and may extend that period where permitted by law.

Appeals

If we deny a consumer rights request and applicable law gives you the right to appeal, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response or emailing hello@miglow.co and stating that you wish to appeal.

We will review the appeal and respond within the period required by applicable law.

If an appeal is denied, we will provide any information about further complaint options that applicable law requires us to provide.

Changes to this policy

If Miglow materially changes the categories of consumer health data it processes, the sources from which it obtains that data, the purposes for which it processes the data, or the parties with whom it shares consumer health data, we will update this policy before applying the new practice where required by law.

Where applicable law requires affirmative consent for a new collection, use, or sharing practice, we will obtain that consent before the relevant processing begins.

The effective date and most recent update date appear at the top of this policy.
